Guys and Gals - if you have an ad here and the item has been sold - PLEASE LET THE WEB ADVERTISING MANAGER KNOW ASAP And just a WARNING - we have had now several recent instances where advertisers have had scammers trying to "buy" (read "steal") their motorcycle or motorcycle parts, or offering to sell bikes or parts that people are advertising to buy. Beware of those wanting to buy who propose a complicated payment process, including payments through Western Union or overseas bank transfers; be especially wary of part payments, over-payments and cheques of any sort including bank cheques - clear all funds before handing over the goods. Cash and direct transfer offer the most protection; Pay Pal is good too, but be aware any disputes may tend in the favour of the buyer. Know who your buyer is and where they are located - if anything smells fishy it probably is a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned... Have not had the time to ride the bike for the last few years. I just about to get a company 4wd. Currently own 2 x 4wds, a trailer and caravan. I am sick of paying out all the regos so a car and bike need to go. Will be sadly missed. I wish I had more time. Well setup for touring. It has capacity to carry heaps of luggage. Often used to run Sydney to Tammworth NSW to see friends. Owned for around ten years. It had 109,000 on the odometer when I bought it. Not used as primary transport for owner. I paid $5000 added Givi Topbox had to replace the broken digital clock on the speedo when purchased. I would estimate I have spent around $4000 replacing parts over the ten years. The following parts replaced (list in approximate order) over the years. I have receipts for most of the items listed below. Replaced during my Ownership (numerous tyres) Rh Mirror Clock $230 approx Battery Front fork seals Front brake pads Rear brake pads Added top Givi top box valued at $300 Electric radiator fan + some hoses Fuel lines Haul convertor $450 Ignition key switch $200 Injectors serviced $260 Black seat sheepskin replaced with new $80 Tank Badges neutral switch rh switch cluster replaced with second hand unit FRONT tire (90% left) rear shock (cost $600 approx 18mths ago) Seat recovered New Battery (approx 18mths ago) 2nd time (7/7/10) New Computer $480 New clutch cable Water pump replaced with new unit, new oil level glass window - $700 (I have receipts and service cards adding to the value of just under $4000) Major Service Spring 2010 Gearbox oil engine oil oil filter fuel filter final drive oil check clean speed sensor Brake fluid changed top up coolant + reseve coolant New spark plugs change clutch cable Install new battery Icon rear shock Installed New front tire Blown out air filter (comp air) Degreased engine Lubed final drive splines to rear diff Swing arm pivot points lubed Tire pressures Cleck lights and controls 2 weeks ago just had the water pump unit replaced, oil level glass window, coolant system fully flushed and oil + filter changed. What you get: 2 x BMW paniers and Givi topbox. Service manual. Original onboard tool roll. 12V auxilary light that can be pluged into bike power out. Topbox large enough to hold helmet. Bike maintained by owner and Mick Dyre Motorcycles for major stuff. The bike has done little mileage over the last two years. I simply havent had the time. It runs well and has had a major service about 500-1000kms ago. There are two faults with the bike the odometer stopped turning about three years ago and the tip of the kill switch has snapped off (still operates). Everything else is good. It shows some signs of age. (ie the red on top of the tank has faded and there is some crazing to the black paint on the speedo/tacho). I believe the bike has a lot of life still in it being BMW quality of course. Posted 26th March 2012 Ad No. 260301 FOR SALE BMW R1100GS - For the kids A must have for all the budding riders out there keen to get a early start on what must be one of the best bikes ever made. This kids trike is built as tough as the bike that it is modeled on . Better yet, there's no rego or CTP to be paid and is guaranteed not to leak oil on the carpet when disassembled in the living room! Joking aside, this trike was given to our 2 year old son and was his favorite toy up until he was about 5. The bike is in good "played with" condition and comes complete with all parts. Including it's own "spanner" that allows the budding mechanic to disassemble and rebuilt it (just like dad does). I'm lead to believe that these bikes were not available in Australia (we bought ours back from the UK with us) and that even in ol' blighty they are no longer available new.
